2014 Super Lawyer and Rising Star Honors

Lang, Richert & Patch proudly announces that more than half of the firm’s attorneys have been selected as Super Lawyers or Rising Stars by Super Lawyers Magazine. These outstanding attorneys are selected using a multi-phase selection process that includes peer nominations and third party research. During this process, Super Lawyers evaluates candidates based upon twelve indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition. The selection of these attorneys is a reflection of Lang, Richert & Patch’s exceptional reputation in the legal community for superb legal services and excellent advocacy on behalf of its clients.

To be a “Super Lawyer” an attorney must be considered among the top five percent of lawyers in the state of California. The firm’s Super Lawyers possess the highest degree of knowledge and expertise in their respective areas of practice and include:

  • Robert L. Patch, II — Personal Injury Plaintiff: General, Personal Injury Plaintiff: Products, Personal Injury Plaintiff: Medical Malpractice
  • Rene Lastreto, II — Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights, Business Litigation
  • Charles Trudrung Taylor — Employment Litigation: Defense, General Litigation, Employment & Labor
  • Mark L. Creede — Construction Litigation, Construction/Surety, Business Litigation
  • Matthew W. Quall — Construction Litigation, Business Litigation, Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights
  • Scott J. Ivy — Business Litigation, Banking, Insurance Coverage
  • William T. McLaughlin — Business Litigation, Real Estate, Insurance Coverage

The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. All attorneys first go through the Super Lawyers selection process. Those who are not selected to the Super Lawyers list, but who meet either one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements, then go through the Rising Stars selection process. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list. Lang, Richert & Patch is pleased to announce its Rising Stars:

  • Philip A. Martinez — Business Litigation
  • Ana de Alba — Employment & Labor
  • Michael J. Gomez — Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights
